Dallas Comprehensive Medical Care - Leading Dallas Healthcare Provider
Meet Dr. Gutierrez of Dallas Comprehensive Medical Care

About Us

Our Why

The current healthcare system is inefficient, expensive and more often than not, disappointing. Waiting in an office for hours only to receive rushed care along with an expensive bill is far too common an experience. Dallas Care offers an alternative: direct access to deeply personalized medical care.

Ten years ago I found myself overwhelmed and exhausted, feeling like a failure both at home and in the office. I was ineffective and overwhelmed. My missing piece? Time. It takes time to learn your history, hear your concerns, earn your trust, develop goals that are attainable and a plan that is realistic. My job is to meet you at your comfort level and give you the tools to optimize your health. This is my privilege and joy.

This doctor-patient relationship is rewarding for both of us.

Meet Dr. Gutierrez

Maureen Gutierrez, MD, FACP | Dr. Gutierrez founded the Dallas Comprehensive Medical Care practice in 2012. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she began her pursuit of medicine at the University of Virginia where she completed her pre-medical training and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry in 1997. After three years of teaching math and science for Teach for America in the Houston Independent School District and KIPP Academy in Houston, she continued her studies at the University of Texas Houston Health Science Center (now McGovern Medical School) where she received her medical degree in 2004. Dr. Gutierrez spent the next three years completing her residency in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Upon completion of her residency she was chosen as Chief Resident in Ambulatory Medicine and she completed a fourth year instructing interns and residents as well as treating her own patient panel at the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital.

“From these experiences I learned that first and foremost my job as a physician is still that of a teacher. You cannot simply tell someone what to do, you have to explain and educate,” said Gutierrez. “This has influenced the way I approach my patients.”

Dr. Gutierrez moved back to the Lone Star State in 2008 where she joined the medical staff of Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas. In addition to treating patients at Dallas Care, she is the medical director for the Austin Street Shelter Respite Center. She enjoys teaching residents for the Texas Health Dallas Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Gutierrez is committed to the community, and serves on the board of directors for the New Friends New Life Circle of Friends and is a member of the Young Men’s Service League. In her free time Maureen enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons and loves a good book. You can find her weekly at the Alamo Drafthouse in Lake Highlands, where she is a season pass holder.

Maureen is passionate about her community, including the Austin Street Shelter, which provides safe shelter and meets the basic needs of the most vulnerable homeless in Dallas. She is equally dedicated to New Friends New Life, which restores and empowers trafficked and sexually exploited teen girls, women and their children, and drives awareness of sex trafficking and its prevalence.
